The response time, the cozy atmosphere, the staff, the breakfast – absolutely grewt!

missingWrote a review on Nov 11modern designappealing vibehot water
The lodge features some appealing modern design elements post-renovation, giving it a fresh vibe.
The hot water situation was a hassle. had to wait at least 15 minutes running both the sink and shower before warmth was felt. Breakfast went downhill too. there were shortages on multiple items, with stale bread making an appearance on the final morning. Tack on a lack of towel hooks in the room and thin, scratchy hot tub towels to the mix, and you’ve got a few letdowns for the price.

The lodge has a charming atmosphere, and I really appreciated the lovely indoor swimming pool, which was perfect for some relaxation after hiking the nearby trails. I had a King Junior Suite, which provided a quiet retreat. Accessibility might be an issue during inclement weather, as it was a bit tricky getting to the room when we first arrived. Overall, the great setting definitely made for an enjoyable stay.

missingWrote a review on Nov 01hot watertowel hooks
I had almost decided to leave a glowing review, but the tiny motel-sized room and constant hot water issues (15 minutes for warmth, really? ) made it impossible. Who knew simple towel hooks would be too much to ask for? After all, isn’t each guest deserving of some pampering? What a missed opportunity, awfully disappointing!

The stay at Awol was enjoyable, especially the beautiful surroundings and the exceptional breakfast buffet featuring fresh baked bread and delicious sides. I particularly liked relaxing in the clean hot tub, perfectly heated for unwinding after a day of hiking. The linens were of nice quality, adding a bit of luxury to our experience. However, there were some issues. The road leading to the lodge was unpaved and muddy after light rain, making it difficult to manage our roller bags. In the room, there wasn’t sufficient counter space, and the bed felt low to the ground, presenting a challenge for older travelers. The temperature control was tricky, even after maintenance came to assist us. Overall, these inconveniences slightly hindered an otherwise lovely stay.

My wife says that it would be great if there were more activities for kids on-site.
